Welcome to Grace United Church of Christ!

Thank you for finding us! We believe that you will find Grace United Church of Christ to be a fun and great place to learn about God and meet new people. We have many different things going on at Grace for all ages. If you are interested or just want to stop on in and visit, we are located on 23rd street and Cleveland Ave. in Canton, Ohio. I hope to see you there!

Jesus called his disciples to him and said,
"I assure you that this poor widow has put in more than everyone who's been putting money in the treasury.  All of them are giving out of their spare change. But she from her hopeless poverty has given everything she had, even what she needed to live on."
Mark 12:43-44

Congratulations!! Another year of mission and ministry as Grace United Church of Christ including our support of Our Church's Wider Mission!  In the United Church of Christ, we have a few big congregations with big budgets; most, like Grace, are small churches with modest budgets.
Yet, we have this in common: we put a priority on sharing.  I am proud to be UCC; I am proud to be a member of Grace.  I believe that our church has an important voice and role to play in the world right now as we continue our mission in the city of Canton.

In this season of Thanksgiving, we will gather to give God thanks for the abundant blessings we have experienced in the past year. We will give God thanks for the opportunities to share our abundance.  We will challenge ourselves to greater giving in the coming year.  We will struggle.  The widow in Mark's story, understood struggle.

While others gave their spare change, she gave everything she had.  These are challenging times, but also times of great opportunity and hope.  Are we willing to give everything we have to continue the mission and ministry of Grace Church?  May God bless us with new visions of grace.

2016 Estimate of Giving Cards and Sharing Time and Talent Cards will be available at church on Sunday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 8. They will be dedicated in worship on Stewardship Sunday, Nov. 8.  Thank you for completing and returning cards.

Upcoming Events -
Nov 22 - Hanging of the Greens (decorating our church) and our mission will be our shut-ins. We are thankful to them all as they are dedicated to Grace and have many stories to tell us.  Please try to visit them and let them know how much we appreciate what they have done for Grace over the years.

I believe God put us on the corner of 23rd Street and Cleveland Ave for a purpose.  We are reaching out to people by doing the food ministry.  The Church Life Committee is trying to plan activities to help keep Grace alive.  Won't you help by supporting our activities and giving financially.

                         ...worship, pray, serve, grow

See you on November 22...

All members of the Grace community are welcome and encouraged to worship together on Sunday, Nov. 22, when our guest preacher will be Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bates, EOA Associate for Congregational Vitality and Development.  Immediately following worship, she will lead a conversation and listen to our joys and concerns.  From this conversation, she will work with Grace Council, Team Grace, and other leaders in church vitality and development to share realistic possibilities for the continued mission and ministry of Grace United Church of Christ.  The voice of every single person in the Grace community must be heard as we strive to be followers of Jesus through Grace UCC in 2016 and beyond.  Please be in worship at 9:15 and attend the discussion following.
Please pray for our Team Grace (Diane Alge, Brandon Berry, Don Smith, Jessica Wells, Lew Wilbanks, and Bruce Williams) meeting regularly to address our challenges; please pray for God's guidance as we devotedly seek to share God's love as followers of Jesus.  Prayerfully consider a new vision of what Grace Church can be as we seek to  give sacrificially to be the church.  Thank you for your prayers and your giving!

We are a people in need of new hope. We find ourselves facing new challenges at home, at church, in the community, and in our world.  No one can suggest that there are easy answers. In the midst of such enormous struggles, we also have our individual lives to lead.  If our personal lives lack confidence and hope, we can be of little use to others. Please consider being a part of the Advent Study of Grace Church, The Gift of New Hope.
